There is no artist in the world like Sia.  Try to think about an artist who transformed from an in-demand indie pop vocalist and chanteuse into a global pop superstar more than a decade into their career.  Try to imagine that same global pop superstar writing and producing music for many of the other most iconic stars of our time.  And then let yourself think about how Sia Furler has racked up more worldwide streams and hits (6 in the “Billions Club” on Spotify, and counting…) all while never showing her face, never compromising her artistic vision, and never letting anyone else define pop stardom for her.

It’s staggering to imagine any artist doing just one of these things, let alone all of them, over the course of a career that continues to reach new heights.  It’s worth repeating:  there is no artist in the world like Sia.

Her career trajectory is itself a phenomenon.  Starting out in Australia, Sia’s artistic life took a number of twists and turns to put her on the world stage, from singing with Zero 7 to soundtracking the finale scene of HBO’s beloved show Six Feet Under, to writing, co-writing, and featuring on songs for other artists, including Rhianna, David Guetta, Flo Rida.  (It should be noted:  all of these artists had massive, chart-topping hits in collaboration with Sia.)

Her song “Chandelier,” from 2014’s Grammy-nominated 1000 Forms Of Fear, not only changed the way pop music sounds, but it revolutionized the art of music video with the groundbreaking clip starring Maddie Ziegler. More worldwide smashes followed in quick succession: “Elastic Heart,” “Big Girls Cry,” “Alive,” “Together,” “Dusk ’Til Dawn” with Zayn, and “Cheap Thrills” – a Billboard number one single for 8 nonconsecutive weeks.

Over 50 billion audio streams don’t lie. Her Christmas album, released in 2017, has one of the top 10 most streamed holiday songs of all time.  She directed her first feature film, titled Music, in 2021, and in 2022, a song from 2016’s This Is Acting – “Unstoppable” – became a viral sensation, pushing it past a billion plays on Spotify and onto the charts again in multiple countries around the world seven years after its release.  Meanwhile, Sia co-wrote songs for global artists like Miley Cyrus, Diljit, and more.  Her songs continue to soundtrack film and TV across the world, and she even managed to reward Survivor contestants.

And now – there is Reasonable Woman, Sia’s first proper album since 2016.  In addition to the guest vocalists, the album was created with a myriad of incredible collaborators, producers, co-writers, engineers, a who’s who of the pop landscape.  The list includes:  Jesse Shatkin, Greg Kurstin, benny blanco, Jim-E Stack, Rosalía, bülow, Mark “Spike” Stent, and more.

FEBRUARY 2, 2024 – Global superstar and multi-platinum award-winning songwriter Tones And I has shared a new single entitled “Dreaming” [single art below], which she co-wrote with Sam Nelson of X Ambassadors and co-produced alongside Nelson and Randy Belculfine. “Dreaming” is available today on all streaming platforms and joined by an official music video directed by Tones And I, Nick Kozakis and Liam Kelly – watch it HERE.

About the song, Tones And I commented, “‘Dreaming’ is the first song from my upcoming album. I maintain my integrity in my stories, which always come from a genuine place of love, loss and hope. I have found myself subconsciously writing about things I’ve never written about before. I let my music go where it wants to go, and I never try to force it in one direction to suit a trend or style. I hope you like this song and I can’t wait to share more music soon.”

“Dreaming” arrives as Tones And I prepares to embark as direct support for P!NK’s 2024 Australia Stadium Tour. The run begins on February 9-10 with a pair of gigs at Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia, canvases the continent, and concludes with two nights at Country Bank Stadium in Townsville on March 22-23. Afterwards, she jets off to Asia for a string of dates in May, and then to Europe for a summer trek [full itinerary below].

Tones And I notably capped off 2023 with the powerful anthem “The Greatest,” which was released in support of the Australia Women’s Football team The Matildas, at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Earning critical acclaim, Rolling Stone Australia raved, “‘The Greatest’ opens with towering strings before the singer-songwriter’s emphatic words arrive to inspire.Tones And I was also featured on the track “BRING IT ON [Official FIFA Walkout Anthem],” alongside Bia and Diarra Sylla, and produced by RedOne (Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber) which served as the official walk-out song for the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia, and will continue as the official walk-out music for every FIFA match until 2030. Furthermore, Tones And I performed a captivating set ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup final in front of a full house of more than 75,000 spectators at Sydney’s Stadium Australia, and broadcasting out to billions of people worldwide.

Those two tracks landed on the heels of Tones And I’s other 2023 single “I Am Free,” which has gathered millions of streams on DSPs alongside a special ‘Piano Version.’ “I Am Free” followed Tones And I’s single “I Made It” – composed for the Netflix original film True Spirit – her 2022 single “Charlie” and her feature on Macklemore’s “Chant.”  The pair debuted the collaboration on Good Morning America with an electrifying performance in New York City’s Central Park. Furthermore, Tones And I also recently wrapped up a run of dates supporting Macklemore on his UK and Europe spring headline tour.

As an inimitable vocalist, clever lyricist, deft producer, and inventive creator, Tones And I stretches the scope of pop music with unpredictable and undeniable anthems of her own design. Since exploding onto the global scene in 2019 as a busker from the Mornington Peninsula, Australia, she has smashed records, garnered multiple awards, sold out tours, surpassed 10 billion streams and reached multi-platinum heights around the world. Her breakout “Dance Monkey” went 6x platinum in the United States, became the most Shazamed song ever, and minted her as “the first female artist to reach 2 billion streams on Spotify with one song, all while consistently holding a spot in the “Top 10 Most-Streamed Songs of All-Time on Spotify. Her 2019 EP, The Kids Are Coming, crashed the Top 30 of the Billboard 200 and is certified Gold. Meanwhile, Tones And I’s full-length debut, Welcome To The Madhouse, toppled the Australian Albums Chart at #1 in 2021. Among five career ARIA Awards, “Cloudy Day” closed out 2022 as ARIA’s “Song of the Year.Beyond selling out shows on multiple continents, she has delivered stunning performances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, TODAY, Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and many more. Along the way, she has also collaborated with Macklemore, blackbear, Jonas Blue, Sam Feldt and BIA, in addition to contributing music to NETFLIX’s True Spirit and the blockbuster sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Taking the helm, she personally shapes her vision by not only writing and performing, but also producing and directing visuals. Tones And I is a creative force and never stops pushing forward.

Pet Shop Boys said today: “We’re very excited to release this new album. Its 10 tracks are the strongest indicators of where we are today. Like much of our music it’s very reflective. It was great to work with James Ford, who we think has brought new elements to our music. Our demos are sometimes quite complicated, and James has dared to make us a bit more minimal at times – but also, the string arrangements are very beautiful. Some of the record is quite heart-breaking, but we hope a lot of it is also uplifting. It’s a record we’re very proud of.”

Parlophone Managing Director Jennifer Ivory added: Pet Shop Boys and Parlophone enjoyed an incredibly successful and creative partnership which spanned almost 30 years, so it feels amazing to have them back with us. One of the most innovative and inventive acts to come out of the UK, their new music continues to evolve and push boundaries while they continue to blaze their own trail. We couldn’t be happier to be working with them again on this new and exciting stage of their career. Parlophone is overwhelmingly proud to welcome Neil and Chris back home!”.

In a special cinema release in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing, ‘Pet Shop Boys Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live at the Royal Arena Copenhagen’ is coming to screens worldwide for an exclusive two-night event later today (Jan 31) and Sunday February 4, showcasing Pet Shop Boys’ electrifying tour captured at the Royal Arena in the Danish capital last summer. FEATURING THE NEW SINGLE ‘MARS TO LIVERPOOL’ – LISTEN HERE

INCLUDES DUBLIN IRELAND
“A marriage of two of the most celebrated members of Manchester’s music scene.” – The Guardian

“It’s glorious, gargantuan, and so confident it borders on ridiculous. There is also nothing else like it in music right now.
The sound of the early 1990s with a contemporary twist.” – Clash

“This has stirred my little shoegazing soul.” – Evening Standard

The news that Manchester icons Liam Gallagher and John Squire were collaborating on a new project ignited a wave of anticipation – uniting the personality and attitude of the Oasis frontman’s vocals with the remarkable guitar talents of The Stone Roses’ creative force would surely be something special. And their debut track, ‘Just Another Rainbow’, lived up to the hype as it hit #16 on the UK singles chart while also shooting direct to #1 on the sales, downloads, vinyl and physical singles charts – in the process achieving Liam’s highest singles chart entry in fifteen years.

But that was just the start. Now Liam Gallagher and John Squire announce much more from their collaboration. Their self-titled debut album will be released on March 1st and is today launched alongside its second single, ‘Mars To Liverpool’. They also announce details of their first UK tour together, as well as select shows in Ireland, France, Germany, Italy and the USA.
Liam says, “I can’t wait for people to hear the album. I think the people that are into the Stone Roses and Oasis and that kinda thing, I think they’ll fucking love it. It’s spiritual, it’s crucial. LG x”

John adds, “It was really inspiring to have those Knebworth gigs fresh in my mind as I started writing. Then it was a case of trying to steer it away from all being too rocky, and trying to mix up the sentiments as well. I like the way that in some parts, it’s quite melancholic and it can make you well up, but there are other parts that are kind of irreverent, rude or crude. There’s a little bit of everything in there, I think it’s a really good mix. I had a hunch that we’d sound good together, but I wasn’t prepared for it to be such a good fit.”

Like ‘Just Another Rainbow’ before it, ‘Mars To Liverpool’ delivers exactly what you’d hope from the pair. Delivering infectious rock ‘n’ roll with an undercurrent of ‘60s-tinged psychedelia, it sees John weaving inventive guitar work – chiming riffs, fluid classic rock solos  around Liam’s uplifting vocal delivery. As with the best of their work from their famous bands and solo work, ‘Mars To Liverpool’ elevates its air of melancholy into a soaring, crowd-pleasing anthem. So that’s now two killer singles to maximise anticipation for the release of the album.

Long-terms friends with a mutual admiration for each other’s work, the idea of a collaboration started when John joined Liam on-stage at his biblical Knebworth shows. Song ideas were soon flowing, and the album took shape with an intuitive intensity during in Los Angeles with the revered producer Greg Kurstin. He played bass throughout the record, while drums were performed by Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M., Atoms For Peace).

The album is now available to pre-order HERE. Physical formats include standard CD and vinyl, a Deluxe split-colour vinyl, a white vinyl stocked by HMV and select indie stores, and an Amazon exclusive orange EcoRecord vinyl. Fans who pre-order the album from the official store by 3pm on Tuesday, January 30th will receive access to a pre-sale for tour tickets. The pre-sale will open at 9:30am on Wednesday, January 31st before any remaining tickets go on general sale from 9:30am on Friday, February 2nd.

The tour will see Liam and John lead a band completed by Barrie Cadogan (Little Barrie, Paul Weller) on bass and Joey Waronker on drums. All shows except Brooklyn feature support from Jake Bugg. The dates are:

DUA LIPA ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE “TRAINING SEASON” OUT FEBRUARY 15TH

DUA LIPA ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE “TRAINING SEASON” OUT FEBRUARY 15TH

NOMINATED FOR TWO GRAMMY AWARDS AND THREE BRIT AWARDS AHEAD OF JUST ANNOUNCED PERFORMANCES AT BOTH SHOWS

“TRAINING SEASON” 30-SECOND SOUND AVAILABLE NOW ON ALL SHORT-FORM PLATFORMS

Today, 3x GRAMMY and 6x BRIT Award-winning global pop powerhouse Dua Lipa announced her new single “Training Season” will be out February 15th at 11pm GMT. “Training Season” is the second single from Dua’s upcoming album, which will be out later this year. Upon the announcement, Dua also made a 30-second sound of the new single available to use on all short-form platforms. You can pre-save “Training Season” here, and you can find Dua’s TikTok using the audio here.

Speaking of the track, Dua shares, “I had been on a string of bad dates, and the last one was the final straw. The next morning I arrived to the studio to Caroline and Tobias asking me how it all went and I immediately declared ‘TRAINING SEASON IS OVER,’ and like the best ‘day after’ debriefs with your mates, we had a lot of laughs and it all quickly came together from there.”

She added, “And while it is obviously about that feeling when you are just absolutely done telling people…men specifically in this case, how to date you right; it is also about my training season being over and me growing with every experience. I have never felt more confident, clear or empowered. And while it may be that training season is never over for any of us, you start to see the beauty in finding that person to experience it with. You stop looking for the trainees and become more interested in having someone where you are and someone to grow with.”

The single announcement comes on the heels of Dua receiving three BRIT Award nominations including Artist of the Year, Best Pop Act and Song of the Year for “Dance The Night.” With the nominations, Dua was announced as one of the performers at this year’s BRIT Awards. Dua was last on the BRITs stage in 2021 when she performed a medley of hits from Future Nostalgia, which took home the Album of the Year award that night.

Dua was recently announced as a performer at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards taking place on February 4th, where her hit song “Dance The Night” from the box office sensation Barbie is nominated for Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media. The track also landed on the Oscars shortlist and earned nominations at this year’s Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.

In Dua’s recently revealed global Rolling Stone cover, her upcoming album was praised as “pop bliss,” while noting it is “uniquely and utterly Dua Lipa: confident dance pop full of witty Instagram-caption-ready one-liners.” In addition to “Training Season,” the album will include “Houdini,” which has now surpassed 300 million streams worldwide and was recently certified silver in the UK. Upon release, the single went straight to #1 on the UK Airplay charts making it Dua’s 11th #1 UK airplay record, and became the #1 music video in the world on YouTube the week of its release. The euphoric club-ready single garnered immediate praise across the board from the likes of Billboard and Rolling Stone, who lauded the track as “a neo-psychedelic dance-floor rager,” to Pitchfork and Vogue who called it a “pop masterclass.” Recently, Dua became the first female artist to have three songs each with over two billion streams on Spotify (“One Kiss,” “Don’t Start Now,” and “New Rules”).

NEWDAD RELEASE THEIR DEBUT ALBUM ‘MADRA’ ON FAIR YOUTH / ATLANTIC

NEWDAD RELEASE THEIR DEBUT ALBUM ‘MADRA’
ON FAIR YOUTH/ATLANTIC

LISTEN HERE

IRELAND & UK TOUR FEB/MARCH 2024

“NewDad’s first full-length shows them expanding on their indie-pop roots, adding extra gnarly post-punk bite and more sophisticated textures to their updated mix of The Cure, Slowdive and Curve” – Uncut

“NewDad find a winning immediacy and existential angst that’s reminiscent of the Cure, Wolf Alice or New Order” – The Observer

“A compelling mix of alt-pop, folk balladry and all manner of fuzzball spookiness” – Record Collector

“NewDad are the Irish shoegazers trying to set out their own generational path” – Rolling Stone UK

“The way in which NewDad’s music untangles the minutiae of major life changes has won them the hearts of a young, devoted following to whom they are somewhere between friends and emergent rock heroes – awe-inspiring and aspirational, but also accessible” – NME

“A debut album of formidable heights” – Dork

Entering 2024 as one of Ireland’s brightest new bands following a slew of hype from the likes of NME (check out their recent cover feature), Rolling Stone UK, The Observer, Uncut and 6 Music, today, NewDad release their acclaimed debut album ‘Madra’ on Fair Youth/Atlantic (listen here). Spending the bulk of last year advancing their status as one of Ireland’s most anticipated alt/rock bands, NewDad released a series of track drops in the run-up to their debut – ‘In My Head’, ‘Angel’, ‘Let Go’, ‘Nightmares‘ and ‘White Ribbons: a demonstration of the Galway outfit’s fuzzy shoegaze sound and melanonic lyricism, which has seen them become lauded as heroes of existential turmoil.

The band’s debut album, Madra (meaning “dog” in Irish), is an 11-song, guitar-stacked visceral outing, as singer/guitarist Julie Dawson embarks on a journey of self-exploration, self-sabotage, and reflection. Soaked in dysfunction, Madra searches for solace in pain, tackling themes of bullying (‘Where I Go’), self-medication/depression (‘Madra’, ‘Let Go’), destruction (‘Change My Mind’, ‘White Ribbons’), codependency (‘Nosebleed’) and resistance (‘Nightmares’). The album artwork, photographed by Irish creative, Joshua Gordon, shows a broken doll that serves as a metaphor for the album’s themes of fragility and vulnerability.

The album finds NewDad reconnect with their musical roots, digging deep into the shoegaze/rock sonics that soundtracked their formative years (the band cite Pixies, The Cure and Slowdive as some of their biggest early influences), together with glimmers of indie/pop that harks back to their earlier material: ‘Waves EP’ (2021) and ‘Banshee EP’ (2022). Written in their home city of Galway, Ireland, before the band moved to London this year, and recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios (Black Sabbath, Queen), the album has been produced by NewDad’s long-time collaborator Chris W Ryan (Just Mustard) and mixed by Alan Moulder (The Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails, Wet Leg). Bound together by Julie’s ghostly vocal – a vessel for her weighty, introspective songwriting – Madra firmly marks NewDad as one of Ireland’s most promising debut guitar bands.

Speaking upon the album’s announcement, Julie said – “Madra meaning dog in Irish explores various difficult parts of the human condition and the idea of the title is that these feelings that come up are sometimes ones you can’t escape, feelings that follow you around like a dog. We had an amazing team around us who helped bring these songs to life and we’re so excited for this album to be out in the world. We hope that people connect with the songs and that Madra can be a comfort to everyone who listens.”

Most recently, Julie sat down with 6 Music’s Huw Stephens for a round table 2023 round-up (listen here). The band will tour IRELAND & UK in Feb/March, taking in London’s KOKO on 5 March.

LISTEN TO “WATERSLIDES” HERE

Tiësto has united with award-winning British collective Rudimental and rising South London singer-songwriter Absolutely for the new collaborative single, “Waterslides,” available everywhere now HERE.

Always open to exploring new and different styles of music, Tiësto started closing out his festival performances earlier this year with some drum & bass tracks and fans went wild. Due to the response and support from the drum & bass community, Tiësto took things a step further collaborating with Rudimental to come up with an original, which perfectly paired with Absolutely’s smooth vocals. Known for her sharp pen and signature alien-pop sound, Absolutely has written songs for the likes of Normani, Ty Dolla $ign, and Anitta. She recently dropped her debut album, Cerebrum, opened for her sister RAYE on a global tour, and is finally shining the spotlight on her talents as an artist in her own right. “Waterslides” proved to be a viral smash following its SoundCloud premiere last month.

“I’m always open to exploring new and different styles of music, and when I started closing out my festival performances earlier this year with some Drum & Bass tracks the fans went insane ! It was incredible experimenting with this genre and working with Rudimental and Absolutely on this one !” – Tiësto

Additionally, she proves once again with her new song “Sunglasses At Night” that she’s always in the mood to sing and dance.

The single, released by Warner Music Central Europe, is also the title track for the upcoming season of “Germany’s Next Topmodel” and produced by Tiësto. The Dutch DJ, music producer, and Grammy Award winner has given a danceable electronic update to Corey Hart’s 1983 New Wave song, ideal as background music for runway and for those who want to dance with their sunglasses, especially at night.

I was thinking about the moment in the middle of the night at a party when you have been up way too late, your makeup has melted off, you are sweaty and cross-eyed, and all you crave is a pair of sunglasses,” says Heidi Klum. “This scene reminded me of the iconic 80s hit, Corey Hart’s Sunglasses at Night. I am beyond ecstatic that I was able to remix and re-record this track with my EDM hero Tiësto. What an honor!“

“Heidi is a great friend so naturally it was a lot of fun to work on this one together! We were hanging out when she shared her idea to remake the original 80’s hit and I wanted to help her on the production! I love how the track turned out and I’m super excited for her and this release.” – Tiësto

“Superstar Heidi Klum covering “Sunglasses At Night” is like a seductive supernova dance explosion on the bright side of the moon!” – Corey Hart

Heidi’s first posts on Instagram already made it clear: The song combines cool beats and sexiness with mysterious looks hidden behind dark sunglasses and an intensely addictive, hypnotic dance beat. This remake of “Sunglasses At Night,” already performed by Tiësto in November at a show in Las Vegas, has the potential to become the new dance anthem. Fans of the “Germany’s Next Top Model” had a taste of Heidi Klum as a singer during the finale of the show in 2022 when she, along with her husband Tom Kaulitz, performed their song “Chai Tea with Heidi.” The track was created in collaboration with none other than rap legend Snoop Dogg but was not Heidi’s first song release. In 2006, her debut single “Wonderland” was released, a Christmas song written for a Douglas advertisement, with all proceeds going to a children’s charity in her German hometown of Bergisch Gladbach.
